Earthshaker is a great Support type hero which has great AoE skills and this should be his asset all through out the game. He can roam through out the map and support his allies in killing enemies. Though he is not that vital during the game, his skills is the key especially in all team fights so using and landing of his skills should be perfect. The starting item build for Earthshaker can be the following:

Animal Courier (1)– This item can summon a courier which is useful to transfer items (6 slot maximum).
Ironwood Branch (3)– This item grants each attributes for Earthshaker giving him more strength and toughness to survive the early game plus the intelligence for mana support. 

Ancient Tango of Essifation (2)– This item helps Kaldr to regenerate when in mid health condition.

Observer Wards (1) – This is a strategic item to spy on your enemies. Supporting heroes just like Earthshaker should do the warding strategy. This should maintain through the whole game.
